STEPHEN DILLANE'S MACBETH
Co-Produced and Co-General Managed in London and Australia by Mark Rubinstein
London and Australia
Opened October 2005.  Written by William Shakespeare, adapted by Stephen Dillane
'A performance that defies belief.' - Los Angeles Times

Performed By Stephen Dillane

Stephen Dillane performs Shakespeare's text of Macbeth in an extraordinary re-imagining of the play. Haunting the stage and crackling with supernatural energy, Dillane's compelling solo performance incorporates each individual character as if they are sliding in and out of Macbeth's disturbed conscience.

Developed at the Centre for New Theatre (CNT) in Los Angeles by Dillane and the Artistic Director of CNT, Travis Preston, Macbeth is not only a harrowing portrait of a mind unraveling in the presence of the horrors it has engendered, but also a poetic and personal meditation upon the corrupting influence of power. Dillane haunts the stage, accompanied by three live musicians

Three live musicians accompany Dillane. These include experimental jazz composer Vinny Golia whose original score underpins the play's nightmarish dreamscape.

London: October - November 2005 and Australian tour at the Sydney Theatre and Adelaide's Scott Theatre 2006.
